The Hartselle Personnel Board and Mayor Don Hall have recommended the  Public Works Director position be offered to Daxton Maze.

At a work session Monday, human resources director Melee Laney read a memorandum expressing the personnel board’s selection.

“Mr. Maze displays the professional demeanor and has the education, knowledge and work experience, which most closely fits the needs of our public works director,” Laney said in the memo. “It is my recommendation that his salary be set at the maximum starting salary range of $62,127.52.”

Laney said Hall, who was absent during Monday’s work session, agreed with the board’s decision.

Maze will be replacing Byron Turney, who retired at the beginning of December.
