Can’t outrun God

Many times when we have sin in our life we want to hide, especially from God.

Someone in the Old Testament by the name of Jonah tried just that. God told Jonah to go to Nineveh but that was the last place that he wanted to go.

Therefore, he did what he wanted to do and went in the opposite direction. It was the wrong thing to do because we can’t outrun God.

We must learn that God has ways of getting our attention. In order to flee, Jonah boarded a ship going to Tarshish.

A big mistake.

The Lord sent a big storm. Others on the ship came to the conclusions that Jonah was responsible for the storm.

In Jonah 1:15, we find where they threw him overboard and the storm ceased. We also find where God sent a great fish that swallowed him for three days and three nights.

During this time, Jonah cried out to the Lord and He heard him. Chapter 2:10 tell us God caused the fish to spit Jonah out on dry land. Jonah does fulfill his mission.

In chapter 3:3 we find where he went to Nineveh. Once again, God is a God of second chances. From this we can learn that even though Jonah was inside a fish, God could still see Him.

No matter where we are He can still see and hear us no matter what we’ve done. So remember we don’t need to run or hide from God because He’s always there.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to Rodney and Cathy Alexander and their family in the loss of Cathy’s grandmother, Dorothy Hamilton.
