Joyce Pauline Gibson

Funeral for Joyce Pauline Gibson, 88, of Falkville will be Sat., Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey Shaw officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., Dec. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gibson died Thur., Dec. 18, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Morgan County to Joseph Edward Shaw and Martha Emily Marm Vest Shaw. She was the Hartselle Enquirer’s writer of the “Massey News” and was a cook at Greg’s Grocery. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gibson; a daughter, Frances Vest; her parents; and three brothers, Johnnie, George and James Shaw.

She is survived by a son, Ralph Gibson, Jr. of Morgan City; a daughter, Patricia Story of Hartselle; a sister, Martha Asherbranner of Massey; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Story, Bradley Story, Pat Weissand, Shane Raper, Lee Gibson and Casey Gibson.
