Adams, Maze wed in November

Olivia Brooke Adams and Daxton Madison Maze were married Sat., Nov. 15, at 5 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Huntsville with the Rev. Dr. Ron Wilson of Oxford, Miss. officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Greg and Leslie Adams of Hartselle. She is the granddaughter of Bill and Jean Lawrence of Hartselle, Betty Adams of Cullman and the late Dwayne Adams and Jim Morris of Birmingham. She is a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and will graduate in May 2015 with a doctorate of pharmacy degree from Auburn University’s Harrison School of Pharmacy.

The groom is the son of Wayne and Donna Maze of Hartselle. He is the grandson of Jewel Madison of Hartselle and the late Max Madison and Luther Maze of Hartselle and the late Ponnie Maze. He is a graduate of The University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a graduate of The University of Alabama in Huntsville with a master’s degree in systems engineering.

He begins new employment in January 2015 as the Director of Public Works for the City of Hartselle.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose a formal designer gown of beaded, embroidered and corded lace tulle.  The gown featured a Sabrina illusion neckline and a high beaded illusion back with regal satin buttons. The full A’d ball gown swept to a chapel train. Her veil of imported French tulle was also chapel length and edged with a band of silk organza.

Maid of honor was Mary Langston McCain of Birmingham, friend of the bride, and matron of honor was Emily Roden Gentry of Phenix City, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Smith Montgomery of Birmingham, Nicky Mendonca Preuitt of Hartselle, Anna Katharine Yeager of Nashville, Tenn., all friends of the bride and Chelsea Noelle Maze of Hartselle, sister-in-law of the bride.

Best man was William Carter Montgomery Jr. of Birmingham, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were James Nathan Kimbrell of Birmingham, Howell Keith McCaghren II of Danville, John Craig Womack of Birmingham, Mitchell Lee Klan of Dallas, Tex., Trenton Drake Preuitt of Hartselle, all friends of the groom and Preston Dwayne Adams of Hartselle, brother-in-law of the groom.

Wedding planner and director was Susie Fortner of Miss Susie Weddings and Events.

Providing the ceremony music was organist Dr. David Miller and providing the reception music was Randall Key and the Soul Society.

Several parties were held in honor of the couple: an Around the Clock bridal shower on July 12 in Hartselle, hosted by Laurie and Mary Langston McCain; a bridal tea on Sept. 14 in Hartselle, hosted by the ladies of First Baptist Church of Hartselle; a Tailgate Couples Shower on Sept. 20 in Moulton, hosted by Mark and Cassandra Yeager and friends; and a Bachelorette Weekend Oct. 17-19 in New Orleans, La., hosted by the bridesmaids.

A rehearsal dinner was given on the eve of the wedding, Nov. 14, at Rosie’s Cantina in Huntsville, hosted by the parents of the groom.

A reception was held at The Historic Roundhouse Depot in Huntsville following the ceremony.

After a honeymoon in Antigua, the couple resides in Hartselle.
