LETTER: Children show love, concern in Santa letters
Dear Editor:
There is an after Christmas, I am the lady from Somerville. that has written to the paper twice I believe. Please correct my bad spelling and writing. I am 94 ½ years old now, I am not blind but sure don’t see good.
I just love the Hartselle paper. Last week was full of Santa letters, I sat her Wednesday night after I got my paper and read until 9 o’clock. You wouldn’t think about the children thinking about our world troubles like they do. We have some good parents to raise them to care about all the stuff going on. They are so sweet, I just couldn’t stop reading the little letter where all they wanted was peace in the world, and was so concerned about the other little children that did not have as much as we all have today.
I was one of these kind of children, we were poor, but thank God we never went hungry, and had a good home with plenty fire place warmth. A warm place to sleep with so many quilts you couldn’t turn over. God has seen us through. And I go to bed under an electric blanket and thank God every night and day for His blessing.
Now about this little last Christmas, I may never see another one but I can say I enjoyed Jesus’ birthday. I had 21 of family come here. I didn’t cook much my self, they all brought stuff. All came that lived here, my daughter and family all live in Mississippi they have been sick, my stepson and his wife didn’t get to come. I say stepson, but he is just like mine, to all his little family. Leon had viruses, but all his family came and all the grandchildren were so sweet and good. Well, I hope you can read this. I love being part of your paper.
P.S. Pray our country will be better in 2015.
