Vernon White

Funeral for Vernon White, 84, of Decatur was Wed., Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Patrick officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery.

Mr. White died Sun., Jan.18, 2015, at Marshal Medical Center North. He was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Morgan County to Leolia White and Martha Jane Davidson White. He was retired from Huntsville Utilities, where he was a crew foreman. He loved to attend Midway Center, dancing and fellowshipping with friends. He loved to spend time fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Vada Parker White; a son, Larry Van White; and his parents.

He is survived by a son, David Lanford White of Hartselle; two daughters, Brenda Carol Balch (David) of Arab and Wanda Stejskal (Andy) of Somerville, two brothers, Elide White of Decatur and Hurel White of Arab; a sister, Flossie Tyler of Morgan City; five grandchildren, Terri Balch (Richard), Gary David Balch, Deanna Stutts (Justin), Elizabeth Perell (Will) and Maria Stejskal; and eight great-grandchildren.
