Buffington selected for Presidential Scholars Program
Hartselle High School senior Molly Buffington was recently named a candidate in the 2015 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
About 4,000 candidates were chosen from the nearly 3.4 million graduating students in the nation. Candidates were chosen based their performance the SAT or ACT and superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in community and school activities.
Inclusion in the Presidential Scholars Program is one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating seniors. One male and one female from each state, 15 students at-large and up to 20 creative and performing arts students will be announced as scholars in May, who will be invited to Washington in June to receive the Presidential Scholars Medallion.
Buffington is the daughter of Scott and Karla Buffington.
