Meeting notes from County Commission

The Morgan County Commission approved the following 13 agenda items at its regular meeting Tuesday.

Authorized the chairman to execute the following contract for the promotion of Morgan County, payable out of the Tourism, Recreation and Convention Fund as follows: Morgan County FFA/4-H Steer Show, $1,000.

•Authorized the chairman to execute the following change order with Walker Brothers LTD on the press box/concession building project at Brindlee Mountain Park, District 4: Change order #2 – increase of $4,190 (septic tank manhole risers and extra excavating for septic lines).

•Authorized Parks & Recreation Director Sean Daily to fill vacant groundskeeper positions for Morgan County parks, Grade 4, $12.65-$16.51.

• Approved a certificate to subdivide and/or consolidate for Jack E. Puckett, Edwards Circle, District 4.

•Authorized he chairman to execute an addendum to the original agreement approved Feb. 16, 2012, on behalf of the Morgan County Board of Registrars with Keet Consulting Services LLC to provide GIS services including district creation, precinct part creation and processing multi-source addressing, with a monthly maintenance and support fee of $900, to be paid out of the general fund.

•Authorized the refund of sales taxes paid in error as follows: Comfort Inn of Priceville, $19,518.26; Piping and Equipment, $2,051.93; Bramlett Pontiac Inc., $6,235.29; and American Buildings Co., $2,540.75.

•Authorized the chairman to execute a grant agreement between the Morgan County Commission and the Alabama Historical Commission to provide funds not to exceed $2,000 for the Morgan County Archives.

•Authorized the chairman to execute the Equitable Sharing Agreement and certification report for the Department of Justice and the Department of the Treasury for seizure assets for the year ending Sept 30, 2014, for the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department

•Approved payment of $50 to S.S, Nesbitt for a notary bond renewal for Marsha Keeney, payroll/benefits officer.

•Approved payment of $5,454.50 to Travelers Insurance for a deductible on a claim filed against the Morgan County by Sharon Ransom.

•Approved payment of $5,362.50 to Harris, Caddell & Shanks PC for legal service performed for the county for December.

•Approved payment of $603 to Peck Glasgow Agency for a public official surety bond for Helen Hill, deputy commissioner of licenses, effective Jan. 19, 2015, through Jan. 19, 2018.

•Approved payment of $750 to the Association of Alabama Tax Administrators for annual membership dues for Sharon Maxwell, Morgan County License Commissioner.
