Locals join in co-op program
About 200 University of Alabama students during spring 2015 are receiving a hands-on educational experience at more than 60 companies and organizations through UA’s Cooperative Education Program.
Participating students and work sites for fall 2014 included Deacon Aldridge of Hartselle, who co-ops through Jordan & Skala Engineers; Daniel Brinda of Somerville, who co-ops through Hunter Engineering; and Bailie Clark of Decatur, who co-ops through Mercedes Benz.
In the cooperative education program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student.
The experience enhances the students’ employment prospects after graduation.
