The Morgan County 4-H program is once again offering youth the opportunity to take part in the 4-H Chick Chain project.

In the Chick Chain project, young people purchase 10 one-day-old chicks, grow them out for 22 weeks and then bring their top three chickens to the 4-H Show and Auction where they can win prizes and have their top five chicks auctioned off.

The cost of the chicks is $25, but if youth bring three chicks back to the show and auction, they are guaranteed to get that $25 back. Any young person ages 9 to 19 who lives or goes to school in Morgan County can take part. Entrants must register for this program with the Extension Office by March 20.

Please contact the Morgan County Extension Office for a registration form or questions concerning this project at 256-773-2549.
