The Morgan County Commission has rescheduled its regular meeting for Thur., Feb. 26, at 9 a.m. in the county commission boardroom on the fifth floor of the Morgan County Courthouse.

The last spring AYSO soccer registration will be Feb. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Sparkman Civic Center. The fee is $35 if the player participated in the fall league and $55 in the player did not. Players must be between the ages of 4 and 18 on or before Aug. 1, 2014.

Milestones Recovery Ministries will have a fundraiser plate sale, Feb. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. The plates will have grilled tenderloin, green beans, corn, bread and tea for a cost of $10.

The Miss Albany’s Piggy Tail Princess 7k and Red Carpet Event will be Sat., Feb. 28 at Priceville Elementary School for people with exceptionalities such as cerebral palsy and other motor function limitations. This second annual event is held in honor of 3-year-old Albany Reese Holmes who has cerebral palsy. The 7k will begin at 9 a.m. with a fun run/walk starting at approximately 10:15 a.m. The red carpet finish line event will be at 11:30 a.m. with a red carpet theme where anyone, especially those with exceptionalities, can cross the finish line with red carpet style. Morgan County Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service in Huntsville will host a SkyWarn Storm Spotter Class in Morgan County on March 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Brewer High School. The Morgan County’s Sheriff’s Rodeo Pageant will be March 14 at Nature’s Trail Church in Decatur. Contestants ages 3-26 will be divided into seven divisions and must be registered by 9 a.m. The interviews and written exams will start at 9:45 a.m., a luncheon will be held at noon and the Queen’s speeches, modeling and impromptu questions will begin at 1 p.m. The competition will move to the Morgan County Celebration Arena for horsemanship at 3:30 p.m. The rodeo queen competition precedes the Morgan County Sheriff’s Rodeo on April 10 and 11.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Rodeo Parade Kickoff will be at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Posse Grounds, located at 1801 Vest Road in Hartselle, April 4 at noon. Contestants may ride a horse, but it is not mandatory. No horses will not be provided.

Hartselle Civitan Club meets the first and third Monday at 6 p.m. in Sparkman Civic Center Room 10. The club works with Civitan International to support and work with people in our community with mental and physical disabilities and support the Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham.
