HCS eliminates early releases due to snow days
Hartselle City Schools will not have any early release days for the remainder of the school year to help the district make up time lost due to this year’s snow and ice storms.
Students will now attend school all day for both March 12 and April 16.
“Due to the loss of days from the snow and ice, we have decided to forego our March and April early release days,” School Superintendent Dr. Vic Wilson said. “Those days will become regular school days.”
In the last three weeks, Hartselle City Schools has cancelled classes six days, five of which were under a state of emergency issued by Gov. Robert Bentley.
Wilson said the district will only have to make up one day on April 17.
