Flaherty’s perfect game helps PHS sweep Good Hope
Priceville’s Bulldogs defeated Good Hope 10-0, 2-1 in a baseball doubleheader at home Thursday.
Landon Flaherty had a perfect five-inning game in the first game over Good Hope. He didn’t allow a hit or walk, and no runner reached on an error while the sophomore struck our four.
According to head coach Shane Hopkins, this was the first perfect game in school history.
The Bulldogs collected 10 hits. Weston Hopkins slugged a double and a single with three RBIs and a run. Stone Patterson had a pair of doubles with three RBIs and two runs.
Aaron Cartee had two RBIs and two runs on two singles. Will Hughes added a hit and a run while Jacob Vehrs had two RBIs with a run.
Sam Brandon scored three times while Phillip Goodwin scored a run. Hopkins, Patterson and Vehrs each had a stolen base.
In the second game, the Bulldogs prevailed 2-1 with Eli Freeman going the distance, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five batters.
Goodwin scored the only two runs for Priceville after reaching on two hits. Hopkins had a single and an RBI, and Cartee added a single. Ramsey Rey accounted for the other RBI. Goodwin had a pair of stolen bases and Cartee and Vehrs each had one.
