Etta Mae Mitchell

Funeral for Etta Mae Mitchell, 79, of West Monroe, La. will be held Sun., March 29, at 2 p.m, at Somerville Church of God with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial is in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. at the church.

A service was also held Fri., March 27, at 2 p.m. at Cypress Street Church of God with Bro. Jeff Jenness and the Revs. Karvin Adams and Neil Oldham officiating.

Mrs. Mitchell was born Oct. 28, 1935. She died March 24, 2015. She loved the Lord, her family and her many friends all over the world. She had a heart for children, helping people, and loved to show hospitality by cooking and having people in her home. She had a passion for missions and volunteered at Christian Community Ministries. She was very involved with Operation Christmas Child.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by a son, Marlon Mitchell (Charlotte); a daughter, Zonia Mitchell (Keri); and three grandchildren, Reuben, Aaron and Carlie.

Pallbearers will be David Grantland, Micheal Grantland, Donnie Grantland, Chris Mooneyham, Bill Partridge and Ted Ely.

Memorials may be made to Church of God Servant Solutions (Pension Board) or Christian Community Ministries.
