Hartselle’s boys and girls track and field teams swept the Austin Friday Night Lights track meet Friday night.

The girls finished with 188 points overall followed by host Austin with 101 points. Danville was also fourth place overall.

The boys racked up 221 points with Danville coming in second with 113 points.

The Lady Tigers were paced with four first-place finishes.

Megan Zuck finished first in the triple jump, fourth in the 100m dash, second in the 200m dash and third in the 800m run.

Reagan Bowling was first in the girls 800 meters while Taylor Barnett, Jordan Hickerson and Jessica Hickerson were first, second and third in the 1,600 meters.

Danville’s Bethanie Vest, Michaela Coombs and Ivey Jordan were fourth, fifth and sixth in the 1,600 meters.

Billie Shelton, Olivia Godsey and Sloan Sittason took the top spots in the girls 100 meters while Shelby Zeigler and Kasey Glasscock were fourth and fifth for Danville.

Bowling, Abigail Davis, Jordan Hickerson and Shelton took first place for Hartselle in the 4x800m relay.

Danville’s 4×100 of Summer Jordan, Tess McAbee, Kara McLemore and Keely Templeton edged Hartselle’s team of Godsey, Jordan Hickerson, Sittason and Brynna Stepp for second place.

The girls 4x400m relay of Shanna Alexander, Bowling, Hannah Wiley and Natalie Zuck was second place.

Danville’s Zeigler also took third place in the high jump. Godsey and Sittason for Hartselle were second and third in the pole vault.

Templeton was also a third-place medalist in the long jump for Danville.

In the boys division, Hartselle had seven first-place finishes. John Duncan won the boys 400m while Timothy Ammons, Eric Rabadan and Zach Wright were first through third in the 800m. The Hartselle 4x400m relay of Chase Barrett, Duncan, Zane Green and Mason McGee was first place while the 4x800m relay team of Ammons, Barrett, Tyler Dolbeer and Duncan were also champs.

Brett Hale and Chris Johnson had a one-two finish in the high jump while Brad Lovill and McGee were first and third in the discus.

Danville’s Parker Hale had a first place finish in the shot put followed by Lovill and Walker Thompson. Cole Merriman and Kaleb Bolton were first and second in the boys triple jump for Danville.

Cole Hauser and Hale of Hartselle were tops in the pole vault.

Falkville’s boys win Falkville Invite

Falkville’s boys track team blew away the competition at its only home meet Thursday at South Park.

The boys garnered 210.83 points, well ahead of second place Vinemont. The girls were third with 156, narrowly behind first place Cold Springs and second place Rogers.

Earning first place finishes were Katie Evans, 100m and pole vault; Patrick Knowles, 110m hurdles; Ryan Sullivan, 300m hurdles; Kari Watts, 400m; Blake Bradford, 400m and 800m; boys 4x100m, 4x400m and 4x800m relay; Bram Miller, high jump, triple jump and long jump; Baylee Lockhart, javelin and shot put; Daniel Lockhart, javelin; and Georbe McCabe, shot put.

Priceville’s best finisher was Tyler Green with a fifth place in the 100m and sixth place in the 200m.

Hartselle takes second, third at Cullman

Hartselle’s boys and girls track teams finished second and third, respectively, at the Cullman pre-sectional meet Thursday.

Megan Zuck was the only event winner with a first place in the triple jump. She also was third in the long jump and fourth in the high jump.

Earning second place finishes were Mason McGee, 300m hurdles; Abigail Davis, 1,600m and 3,200m; Chase Barrett, 400m; girls 4x400m and 4x800m relays; boys 4x800m relay; Brad Lovill, discus; and Sloan Sittason, pole vault.
