Alabama Silver Haired Legislature elections are May 5 

The Alabama Silver Haired Legislature (ASHL) is a nonpartisan, non-profit model legislature of citizen volunteers age 60 and older that represent the interests of older Alabamians.  Elections for the 2015-2017 term will be held on Tues., May 5, at area Senior Centers.

Two candidates,  John David Bell and Franklin Turney are vying for the District 9 seat.  The ASHL district mirrors the Alabama legislative District 9 which covers parts of Morgan County and Northwestern Cullman County.

Residents of the district aged 60 and older may cast a ballot for their chosen candidate from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on May 5 at one of the following locations:

Falkville Senior Center – 1076 Culver Road, Falkville

Hartselle Senior Center – 406 Nance Ford Road, Hartselle

Somerville Senior Center – 16 Senior Lane, Somerville

West Point Senior Center – 3990 County Road 1141, Cullman
