CES celebrates Earth Day
To celebrate Earth Day, a shumard oak tree, also known as the “Science Tree,” was planted on the grounds of Crestline Elementary School in honor of the newly developed science departments in grades 1-4. Pictured with the tree are science teachers Amy Shirey, Barb Helton, Regina Hames, Christy Bennich, Jessica Halverson, Principal Robin Varwig and Hartselle City Schools Superintendent Dr. Vic Wilson. Classes were challenged to write a story about the newly planted science tree for the school’s library. In conjunction with Earth Day, students picked up trash on the campus because they belong to the Adopt-An-Area Program through PALS (People Against a Littered State).
