Church Calendar for May 20

THRIVE! Praise Service and Worship will be June 14 at 2:30 p.m. at McKendree Bridge Center.

The 2015 Golf Tournament, sponsored by Hartselle First United Methodist Church youth group, will be at the Burningtree Country Club Mon., June 8. The cost is $75 per player for a 4-man scramble. To register, contact 256-773-695.  Proceeds benefit United Student missions and ministries.

Serenity Baptist Church, located at 1062 Perkinswood Road in Hartselle, holds Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., worship at 11 a.m. and Sunday evening service at 5 p.m. Wednesday night services begin at 6:30 p.m. to glorify God through faith, prayer and discipleship. Faith Independent Church, located on Bell Springs Road on Lacon Mountain, has services each Sunday at 10 a.m. for Sunday school and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for worship (except on third Sunday nights–no service). Wednesday’s service is at 7 p.m. We are a non-denominational church. Pastor is Bro James E. Mills Jr.

Pattillo Street Church of God holds Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. (classes for all ages) and praise and worship at 10:30 a.m. A Sunday evening service is held at 5 p.m. and a Wednesday service at 7 p.m., including youth activities. The church is located at 1211 Pattillo St. SW in Hartselle and the pastor is the Rev. John McPeek.

Miracle Church of Jesus Christ at 78 Watts Road in Falkville holds services Sunday nights at 6 p.m. and Tuesday nights at 6 p.m. Brother James Watts is the pastor.

Salem United Methodist Church on Barkley Bridge Road has a food pantry for the needy. Call the church at 256-773-8030 and leave a message. The church will try to help those who are hungry.

Somerville Church of God at 3151 Highway 67 in Somerville, meets on Sunday at 10 a.m. for Sunday school, 11 a.m. for morning worship, 6 p.m. for evening worship and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday for prayer meeting and Bible study. Michael Gunter is pastor. For more information, call 256-778-8782.

First Independent Methodist Church in Decatur will have a men’s Bible study each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Hal at the annex building. Bring cans for the can trailer every Sunday or Wednesday. Proceeds go toward youth camp.

Valhermoso Baptist Church, 7312 Highway 36 East in Lacey’s Spring, offers Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. Sunday night services include discipleship training at 5 p.m. and worship at 6 p.m. Classes for youth and adults are Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. Pastor is Craye Hall.

Cave Springs Baptist Church, located at 187 East Cave Spring Road, holds Sunday School at 9 a.m., morning worship at 10:15 a.m., Jesus and Me (J.A.M.) babies through sixth grade at 5:30 p.m., with evening worship beginning at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, Adult Bible study begins at 6:30 p.m., along with youth worship and bible study as well as J.A.M. in the Middle. Gum Springs Baptist Church, located at 321 Gum Springs Road in Hartselle, has the following service schedule: Sunday school at 10 a.m., Sunday morning worship at 11 a.m., and Wednesday prayer service at 7 p.m. and no  Sunday evening worship during May.

Piney Grove Christian Church hosts services each Sunday at 10 a.m. for Sunday school, preaching at 11 a.m., night service at 6 p.m. and each Wednesday for Bible study at 6 p.m.

Liberty Baptist Church, 1206 Lane Road NW, holds services each Sunday with Bible study at 9:45 a.m., Bible preaching at 11 a.m., discipleship training at 5:30 p.m. and Bible preaching at 6 p.m.

Fairview: The Grace Place in Falkville offers Celebrate Recovery ministry. It is a 12-step recovery ministry that uses biblical principles to defeat all types of addictions, habits, hang-ups and life struggles. Join us Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at Fairview: The Grace Place. West End United Methodist Church, located at 513 St. Clair St. in Hartselle, hosts Sunday breakfast and fellowship at 9:45 a.m., Sunday school at 10 a.m. followed by welcome and announcements at 10:50 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday evening worship is at 5 p.m. Wednesday evening Bible study begins at 5 p.m. Bible study with children’s classes at 6 p.m.

Life House Assembly of God, located on 144 County Road 1212 in Vinemont, holds weekly services on the following schedule: Sunday morning worship and Kid Zone children’s church at 11 a.m. and Wednesday night Bible study at 6 p.m. Pastor is Howard Leslie.

Rock Springs Baptist Church, at 525 Rock Springs Road in Hartselle, hosts community prayer time every first Wednesday of the month starting at 6:30 p.m. and every third Wednesday for visitation and canvassing.
