The games seniors play

Registration is now open for Morgan County residents to participate in the District 2 Masters Games of Alabama scheduled for July 13-22. The Masters Games of Alabama is a non-profit organization that developed in 1989 in Oxford. The purpose is to provide adults ages 50 and older an opportunity to participate in a variety of events that help them maintain active lifestyles. Local competitions will be held at the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center.

There are 16 different events that will take place during the competition. Registration deadline is June 12.

Games available at all competitions include billiards, bowling, basketball free throw, checkers, dominoes, frisbee throw, horseshoes, Nerfball throw, rook, shuffleboard, softball throw and table tennis.

The following games will be available only in District 2:  basketball 3-point, corn hole toss, pickle ball and wii bowling.
