Randy Douglas Logan

Funeral for Randy Douglas Logan, 50, was Thur., May 21, at noon in the Peck Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Logan died Sat., May 16, 2015. He was born Nov. 20, 1964, in Decatur to Douglas Arthur and Janice Faye Logan of Hartselle. He was a graduate of Hartselle High School and of Auburn University where he earned multiple degrees including a masters of business administration. After graduating, he moved to New York City to work in the publishing industry, primarily as a Senior Financial Planning Manager for companies such as American Express Publishing, Primedia, Time Warner, US News, World Report and the Bonnier Corporation. Randy had returned to Alabama to complete a Bachelor of Science in accounting to follow his plans of becoming a CPA. He was most recently employed by the Winsett Financial Group. He was an avid fan of Auburn University and New York’s major sporting teams, particularly Auburn Tigers football and the New York Yankees. He was the former president of the New York Auburn Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was close to and very supportive of his niece Sarah and nephew William, as well as his godchildren Davis Swart and Maria Newman, with whom he shared his love of New York, theatre, sports and the arts. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd of New York City and attended the Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church while in Hartselle and Shady Grove Baptist Church to celebrate special occasions with family. He was preceded in death by his father Douglas, grandparents and George and Mayme Logan of Decatur and William and Eva Taylor of Hartselle.

He is survived by his mother, Janice Hargett (Billy); a brother, Joe Logan (Stoshia); and special niece and nephew, Sarah Logan and William Logan, all of Hartselle.

Pallbearers were Joe Swart, John Newman, Jason Evans, Courney Cook, William Logan and Greg Roden.

Honorary pallbearer was Sarah Logan.
