Fairview: the Grace Place raised $2,000 for the Carpenter’s Cabinet on Fri., May 15, at its annual Light Up the Night Midnight 5k at South Park in Falkville.

Although the rain threatened to interrupt the race, the weather turned out to be clear. Race Coordinator Nikki Miller said the attendance for the event was a record, totaling 136 participants.

The overall male and first place winner was Jabe McCoy with a time of 18:01. Linda Scavardo was the overall female winner, crossing the finish line at 21:56. The overall male masters winner was Jon Elmor, while Christine Landry was named the overall female masters winner.

The 0-13 male winner was Nickolas Skinner, and the 0-13 female winner was Hailey Wilson. Drake Hamilton was the 14-24 male winner, and Megan Zuck was the 14-24 female winner. Joe Mast and Lauren Estes were the 25-34-year-old male and female winners, respectively. Felix Camacho was the 35-44 male division winner, and Kimberly Dillard was the 35-44 female division winner. The 45-54-year-old male winner was Marty Hand, and the 45-54-year-old female winner was Tracy Eddy. Steve Ledbetter won the 55-64 male division, and Sandy Lecroy won the 65 and up male category.

Carol Phelps won the award for the best glow-in-the-dark running costume.
