Nail named to All-American

A former member of the Hartselle High School golf team was recognized by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Mon., May 18.

Heather Nail, a sophomore golfer at the University of Mobile, was one of fifteen women in the nation to be named to the Second-Team NAIA Women’s Golf All-American.

Throughout her season, Nail has had many successes. She was honored as the SSAC women’s Golfer of the Year and earned an individual bid to the 2015 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship. Nail also won the Webber Invitation, Badger Shootout, RedHawk Fall Classic and RedHawk Spring Classic during the season. Additionally, in the other eight tournaments in which she competed, Nail had four top-three finishes and was in the top 17 in all tournaments. Her season stroke average was 76.4.

Nail was the first UM golfer to receive an All-American honor since 2010.
