Humane Society receives grant from ASPCA
The Morgan County Humane Society recently received a $5,000 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The grant money was used to purchase scales, equipment and items for animal handling and animal cruelty investigations. The grant was used to obtain a 24-hour security facility.
The shelter, which has been open for one year, is the only no-kill shelter in Morgan County. They are also a state-designated wildlife rehabilitation center. Since they have been open, they have served 42 domestic animals and 70 wildlife animals.
