Three arrested on drug charges

Two Morgan County women and one man were arrested on Thurs., June 25, on drug charges.

A Morgan County deputy stopped Kimberly Brand, 27, and Britney Wilson, 27, for driving with an expired tag and failing to wear seatbelts. The deputy found methamphetamine-ICE and drug paraphernalia containing methamphetamine in the vehicle during the traffic stop.

Wilson’s boyfriend, Brandon Langofrd, 39, later arrived at the scene. The deputy received information that Langford had outstanding warrants with the Athens Police Department.

The Morgan County Drug Task Force spoke with the three individuals after they were transported to the Morgan County Jail. Langford confessed that he had purchased cold medicine containing pseudoephedrine and provided it to a methamphetamine cook. All three individuals were arrested. Langford was charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance second degree. Wilson was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, and brand was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute. Wilson and Brand have additional misdemeanor drug possession and drug paraphernalia charges.
