Virginia ‘Ginny’ ‘GiGi’ Johnson

Funeral for Virginia “Ginny” “GiGi” Johnson, 63, of Somerville was Tues., July 14, at 2:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Rob Jackson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Center Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson died Fri., July 10, 2015, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born June 2, 1952, to Henry Henderson and Clarissa Taylor Henderson. She had a 30 plus year career as a nurse in the operating room. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and painting as a hobby. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She loved the LORD!!! and her church family. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Johnny Henderson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jane Alexander.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Johnson of Somerville; a son, Christopher Johnson (Sydney) of Priceville; a brother, Jeff Henderson of Somerville; and two grandchildren, Ethan Johnson and Elijah Johnson

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Central Baptist Church in Decatur.
