Lions Club, HACC set zombie run for Sept. 12
Anyone in the vicinity of Sparkman Park on the evening of Sept. 12 should beware of what they might see.
Zombies will be on the prowl that night, and those interested in being chased by one of the “walking dead” should drop by the park that evening and check out an event sponsored by Hartselle Lions Club and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce.
The two groups will be holding a zombie run on that date in conjunction with the upcoming Depot Days on Sept. 12-19.
The basics of a zombie run include an approximate 5k course that runners will navigate that will include various terrains and obstacles. Also, during the event zombies, who will be trying to remove flags that will be attached to each runner, will be on the prowl. This is similar to flag football. The zombies will be chasing the runners along the course and popping up and out at various points along the race.
Participants acting as zombies will be in zombie make-up and dress and the more horrible they look, the better zombies they will be. Teams are also encouraged in the event.
The exact time of the event will be announced at a later date and additional details will follow.
For more information about a zombie run, Google “zombie run” and get ready for all of the fun that will entail the event.
All proceeds will go to Hartselle Lions Club and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce to benefit and help the local Hartselle/ Morgan County community.
