Lions Club, HACC to host Zombie Run Sept. 12

Hartselle Lions Club and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce will host a zombie run Sat., Sept. 12, at Sparkman Park in conjunction with the upcoming Depot Days.

The basics of a zombie run include an approximate 5k course that runners will navigate including various terrains and obstacles. Zombies will try to remove flags that will be attached to each runner during the race. This is similar to flag football. The zombies will be chasing the runners along the course and popping up at various points along the race.

Participants acting as zombies will be in zombie make-up and dress, and the more horrible they look, the better zombies they will be. Teams are also encouraged in the event.

To register, go to active.com and search for Hartselle Zombie Chase.

The event begins at 7 p.m., and registration will begin at 5 p.m.

All proceeds will go to Hartselle Lions Club and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce to benefit and help the local community.
