Amanda Sharrott Sandlin

Funeral for Amanda Sharrott Sandlin, 88, of Hartselle will be Sun., Aug. 9, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Henderson and Bro. Nathan Green officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., Aug. 8, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sandlin died Thur., Aug. 6, 2015, at her residence. She was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Morgan County to Norman Corbett Sharrott and Clara Lucille Norris Sharrott. She married Joseph James Sandlin on Sept. 23, 1944, together they raised six children. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardener and for many years operated her own greenhouse. She loved raising flowers from seed and sharing her knowledge with those who did business with her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sandlin; her daughter, Rhonda Sandlin; siblings, Dorothy Wright, Virginia Segars, Kenneth Sharrott, Jan Griffith and her parents.

She is survived by three sons, Jeffery Sandlin, Mike Sandlin (Sherry) and Chris Sandlin (Cindy), all of Hartselle; two daughters, Linda Wright (John) and Barbara Mabrey (Tim), both of Hartselle; a brother, Frank Sharrott of Hartselle; two sisters, Ozelle McAbee of Hartselle and Gail Puckett of Decatur; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and her pet of many years, Ronnie Jo.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandson

Family wishes to extend special thanks to her caregivers and granddaughters, Tracie Wright and Jennifer Eddy and to Hospice for their care and treatment.
