Bulldogs return key players
The pace of high school football practices these days are quick with the AHSAA mandating the length of practices, the schedule of breaks and so on. It literally makes teams schedule out their practices with a stop watch.
The hurried pace of practice was matched by a very quick rhythm of the Bulldog offense. After last years season ending injury, Kaleb Barker returns at the helm as the quarterback, while Aaron Cartee moves back to running back.
This duo and a host of talented receivers will make stopping this bunch very difficult on opposing defenses. Priceville’s team is loaded with seniors, 22 in all, that have been looking forward to this day for quite a long time. Actually, 10 of them have been playing sports of some kind together since they were 7 years old.
The Bulldogs kick off their football season in typical fashion with their annual inter squad game this Friday night at Priceville’s stadium. Priceville High School announces “Community Night” where player introductions will start at 6:30 p.m. followed by an inter-squad scrimmage of the Priceville Community Recreation Association (PCRA) teams, slated to begin about 6:50 p.m. Everyone who attends will see the improved speed and strength of both the offense and defense. The hope is that a few new-comers and underclassmen will improve the defense from years past.
The Priceville Middle School will also scrimmage themselves starting about 7:30 p.m. All this is just ahead of our first look at the 2015 Priceville Varsity team. The community is invited and the ticket price is reduced to $2 to be paid at the gate.
Priceville will open regular season play at West Morgan Aug. 27.
