West Morgan Players attempt to block field goal

A contest between any two county schools is always interesting to watch, and this one was no exception.

The game would turn one sided as it went on, with Priceville racking up 651 yards of total offense. No doubt, that August 27, 2015 will go down in the record books for Priceville as the highest point total and highest point differential by a Bulldog football team.

Priceville won the toss and chose to receive. After a turnover by both the Bulldogs and West Morgan on their first possessions, things began to heat up.

Kaleb Barker began what was to be a very good night, scoring in one play after the Rebel miscue. Barker, who was 19 of 26 for 410 yards on the night passing, connected with Parker Gwen on a 37 yard pass to score the first. Priceville would go on to put up 8 offensive touchdowns, and one defensive score.

West Morgan fought back with a score of there own in the first quarter, but struggled to consistently gain ground during the game, forced to punt four times. Priceville on the other hand, scored almost every time they had the ball gaining 414 yards on the ground. Barker, the Bulldog quarterback accounted for 175 yards on the ground and five touchdowns. Aaron Cartee gained 44 yards and added a rushing touchdown of his own. Kyle Haynes, caught 3 passes for 92 yards while Parker Gwen caught five and scored twice, with 88 total yards. Barker connected with nine different receivers on this career passing night.

Brian Parker and Jarod McKelvy led the defense in tackles with 10 and 9 respectively. Elijah Cole recovered a fumble and returned it for a score from 30 yards out.

The final score was 63 to 18.

Priceville enters region play this Friday, September 4, at JP Pennington High School.
