Jimmy Ray Brewer

Funeral for Jimmy Ray Brewer, 74, of Hartselle was Mon., Aug. 31, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Hall and Reggie Corum officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Mr. Brewer died Aug. 28, 2015, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Marcy Carolyn Brewer; two sisters, Jeanie Graham and Nancy L. Watts; and an infant son. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1963. He was an employee of International Paper Products for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2008. He was a devout Christian and a member of Westview Church of Christ in Hartselle.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Doyce Keeton Brewer; a daughter, Melissa A. Brewer of Hartselle; a son Curtis W. Brewer (Monica) of Cleveland, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Clancy Hensley (Richard) of Cleveland, Tenn. and Sloane Brewer of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a grandson, Braxton Brewer of Cleveland, Tenn.; two great-granddaughters, Auburn and Azalie; a great-grandson, Anthony of Cleveland, Tenn.; two brothers, William G. Brewer (Sue Nell) of Tuscumbia and Jackie Brewer (Gina) of Foley; five sisters, Joyce Massey of Rockledge, Fla., Mary Ann Hovater of Tuscumbia, Martha Myrick and Nell Holt (Charles) both, of Florence and Gail Delashaw (Michael) of Decatur; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Braxton Brewer, Tony Brewer, Jackie Wayne Brewer, Dax Holt, Neal Myrick and Chester Wright.

Honorary pallbearers were Curley Burns and Rex Milligan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
