Hartselle High School defeated Madison Academy to win the Eddie Preuitt Ford Volleyball Tournament Saturday, September 19. The event was held at Hartselle High School.

In pool play Hartselle defeated DAR 25 -16 and 25 -20.

Hartselle d. Oxford two out of 3 matches 25 – 16, and 15 -9 losing one game 21 – 25.

Hartselle d. Winston County 25 -5 and 25 – 18.

In tournament play Hartselle defeated Buckhorn 25 – 21 and 25 – 12.

Hartselle d. Danville 25 -16 and 25 -11.

Hartselle d. Hazel Green 25 -22 and 25 -13.

In the final game of the tournament after losing to Madison Academy 26 -28, Hartselle came back to win 25 -23 and 15-3 to claim the tournament title.

Madelyn Cheatham 25 kills, 1 assist, 4 aces, 25 blocks & 5 digs; Maggie Anderson 1 kills, 58 assists, 2 aces & 17 digs; Lexie Smith 6 kills, 7 blocks & 3 digs.

 

Lady Tigers claim win

over Cullman in Area 16

Hartselle’s Lady Tigers opened Class 6A, Area 16 volleyball play with a 3-0-win over Cullman at home Sept. 15. The score was 25-11, 25-6 ad 25-12.

Bailey Powell paced the win with 10 kills, 4 digs and 2 blocks. Megan Zuck scored 8 kills, 2 aces,  2 digs and an assist, Gabrielle Bili added 15 assists 4 di gs and an ace, Maggie Anderson a had 13 assists and 3 digs, and Jordan Finn had 8 digs.

 

Hartselle finishes

third in tourney

Hartselle High School’s volleyball team complied a 7-1 record and finished third at the Rocky Top Classic in Gatlinburg, Tenn., Sept 11-12. The results improved the team’s overall record to 23-9.

The Lady Tigers defeated six Tennessee teams and one from Virginia before falling to Heritage, Tenn., in the semi-finals. Hoover finished first in the tournament.

Hartselle d. David Crockett, TN 25-22, 25-16

Hartselle d. Sullivan South, TN 20-25,25-12,15-11

Heritage TN. d. Hartselle 20-25, 25-20, 15-11

Combined stats show Hartselle’s Megan Zuck with 72 kills and 36 digs, Bailey Powell with 55 kills and 35 digs, Jordan Finn with 42 digs and  Gabrielle Bili with 37 digs.

Randolph 12-25-17

The Lady Tigers (24-10) fell to Randolph l1-25, 25-21, 17-15 in a home match Sept. 15.

Zuck scored 7 kills and four digs, Bili had 13 assists and a dig, Anderason added 10 digs and 8 assists and Finn had 7 digs, an ace and an assist.
