The agenda was simple Friday night; win the game, and secure a playoff spot and the Priceville Bulldogs did just that with a 42-14 win over Good Hope Warriors.
Once again the Bulldogs fast paced offense took a while to get off the ground. Good Hope controlled the clock much of the first quarter after Priceville’s first possession failed to gain a first down.

After the Warriors ran off a series of plays, their first drive stalled and they attempted a fake punt.  The Bulldogs were up for the challenge and took the ball at midfield on a turn-over-on-downs.  The Bulldogs would strike down the field with one pass and then another, but on the second pass the ball would be tipped and intercepted.

The Warriors would not be able to make a sustained drive and gave the ball back to the Bulldogs with the score still 0-0 with only a couple minutes left in the first.  Kaleb Barker, Priceville’s quarterback, would fire a long pass down the field to Kyle Haynes who would get caught from behind at the one.  Barker, who was 16 for 19 for 265 yards passing, scoring 3 TD’s with 1 INT; would carry the ball 5 times for 76

yards with one of those a single yard plunge for a TD.  The Dogs would fail to convert on the 2-point conversion.  The first quarter would end with the score Priceville 6 and Good Hope 0.
The Warriors offense might have been their best defense, keeping the ball away from the Bulldogs highflying, high scoring machine.  While Good Hope played keep away, valuable minutes would tick away until Priceville scored again in the middle of the second, to raise the lead to 14-0.  In Bulldog style, they would score again in just a couple of minutes, making it 22-0.  The Warriors would hold on to a bit of hope by scoring late in the first half with a pass in the corner of the end zone.  The Warriors would also get the ball first in the second half.
The Bulldogs would hold the Warriors with a series of good plays, to get the ball back and quickly score on a touchdown pass to Trea Cole.  The 2-point would again fail and increase the Dogs lead 28-7.  Priceville, not known for their defense over the past few years, has begun to play a key role in the Bulldogs success, as they would again get the ball from a fumble recovery by Ramsey Rey.

Priceville would take that opportunity and put up another score before the end of the third quarter, with a run by Kyle Haynes, putting Priceville up 34-7.

Before the end of the 3rd, Austin Smith gathered in a strike from Barker to score, Bulldogs now 42 – Warriors 7, after the 2-point conversion.

The Warriors would score mid way through the forth with a long pass.  The Bulldogs would sub out their starters on their last possession and wind up punting the ball for the second time in the game.  The Warriors would fail to mount a scoring drive by the end of play.  The final score, 42-14 Bulldogs win.

This 7th win by the Priceville Bulldogs is the most in the school’s history and it secures a playoff birth for only the second time for Priceville.  Next for the Bulldogs, Locust Fork comes to Priceville in another Region contest, Friday, October 16 @7 pm.
