Eagle Court of Honor
Eagle Scout Asher Gipner
Asher began his trail to Eagle Scout as a Wolf Cub Scout. He moved forward on the trail earning the Webelos Badge and the Arrow of Light award. He has been a member of Troop 275 in Priceville, AL where he advanced from Tenderfoot Scout to Star Scout; Troop 364 in Huntsville, AL where he advanced to Life Scout; and is currently a member of Troop 336 in Hartselle, AL where he passed the Board of Review for Eagle Scout on August 24, 2015. Along the trail to Eagle, Asher has earned twenty-five merit badges and has served in many troop leadership roles including Chaplain Aide, Patrol Leader, Historian, and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. He is a graduate of National Youth Leadership Training and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow as an Ordeal member. He also participated in high adventure challenges at Philmont Scout Ranch and Northern Tier. The beneficiary of Asher’s Eagle Project was the Cotaco Elementary and Middle School. He raised funds and engaged the support of 25 people and led them to overhaul an 800 square foot landscape garden, remove an obsolete antenna tower foundation, and create a new 200 square foot landscape garden.
Asher is a member of the senior class of A.P. Brewer High School where he is a member of the Soccer and Cross Country teams. He played trumpet in the Patriot Marching Band. He is also representing the state of Alabama as a member of the United Soccer Club Division One Regional team. Asher plans to be attend the University of Alabama in Huntsville next year pursuing a degree in engineering.
Eagle Scout Harrison Haynes
Eagle Scout Harrison Haynes has been in the scouting program since first grade. He is an Arrow of Light recipient from Cub Scout Pack 92 at Crestline Elementary, Hartselle, AL. Harrison bridged up to Troop 336 where he has served troop leadership roles including Chaplain Aide and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. He is an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow and also earned the God and Country Award. Harrison has spent many summers at both Comer and Boxwell Scout Summer Camps. He has earned 31 merit badges on his trail to Eagle. Harrison also participated in two high adventure base camps: Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and Northern Tier in Atikokan, Ontario, Canada. For his Eagle project he completed a walking trail and restored an outdoor classroom platform for his church, The Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Decatur, AL.
Harrison is a 17 year old junior at Hartselle High School where he is a member of Key Club. He was also a member of the Hartselle High Track and Field. After high school graduation, Harrison plans to pursue a degree in history and museum studies.
