Falkville baseball goes 0-2 in opening games
Falkville High School’s baseball team dropped a game to Danville and split with Elkmont in season opening action Friday and Saturday.
The Blue Devils lost to Danville’s Hawks 5-3 and 8-5 on Friday. In the first game, the Hawks collected six hits, scoring three runs in the second and two in the third.
Locklear and Krohe each had a two-RBI singles and Holder added an RBI single. Krohe pitches all seven inning and got credit for the win. He allowed three runs on three hits while striking out 12 batters and walking four.
Jordan Pace, Nic Reid and Taylor Davis each singled for Falkville. Blake Eason was the losing pitcher. He allowed two runs on two hits in three innings.
Elkmont won against Falkville on Saturday, 11-5.
Jordan Nelson had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs to lead Elkmont. Jackson Cook had a pair of hits, an RBI and Bryce Tyler and Eli Hobbs each had a hit. Cook was the winning pitcher. He allowed five runs on five hits while striking out three and walking six batters in six innings.
Nic Reid had two hits an RBI and scored twice for Falkville. Andy Dove and Blake Eason each had a hit and Buck Greenfield had a RBI hit and scored twice, Nichols was the losing pitcher. He allowed four walks in one-third inning.
