Priceville softball update

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs were in action March 4, 5 and 8.

The Bulldogs lost to Spain Park on March 4 5-2 and to Clay Chalkville 6-0. Priceville led 3-2  in the last inning when Spain Park hit a 2-run homerun.

Abby Hensley drove a run in. Kathleen Wheeler stole a base and scored a run. Hannah Wheeler 1-3, RBI; Sara Beth Wilson 1-3, single; Madison Beddingfield 1-1, single; Mia Grantland 1-3, single, stole a base and scored a run.

Head coach Preston Potter had mixed reactions about the game. “We played well offensively, defensively and we pitched well against Spain Park,” Potter said, “We played our worst game of the year against Clay Chalkville. We made 5 errors.”

On Saturday Priceville defeated Foley 4-3 in extra innings. Beddingfield got the win. She struck out 5 in 6 innings and gave up 3 hits.
Wheeler doubled in the tying run in the extra inning, stole 3rd, then scored the game- winning run on a wild pitch.

Priceville then lost 6-4 to Hueytown.

Hannah Wheeler drove in all 4 runs. 2-2 with a 2-run double in first and a 2-run home run (her 3rd of the season) in third inning. Madison Beddingfield and Skyler Benson each singled.

Priceville lost their first area game against Westminster Christian on Tuesday. Destinee Hargrove 1-3, double;

Mauriene Clark stolen base and scored a run

“Had some good at bats against one of better pitchers in the state, but we also wasted a lot of at bats.” Potter said. “We played well; they just hit the ball real well.”
