Priceville Elementary to hold Kids Walk for diabetes
Priceville Elementary School would like to invite you to be a part of our Kids Walk for Diabetes on Wednesday April 20 @ 1:30 p.m.
We would especially like to invite all children, families, and friends in our community that are directly impacted by Type 1 Diabetes.
Our school goal is to raise $1500. We are selling JDRF sneakers to raise money for a cure. Our health room will keep 10% of all money raised. Every penny counts! The top 3 students raising the most money will be awarded a gold, silver, or bronze medal.
For extra fun, our principal, Mrs. McCain will kiss a pig if we meet our goal. If we exceed our goal, our assistant principal, Mr. Gullion will kiss a donkey. It’s all about Kids Helping Kids!
Each day, 40 children are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the United States alone. That’s the equivalent of an entire classroom full of students each and every day! Diabetes is one of the most costly chronic diseases, and children who have T1D will never outgrow it. To stay alive, they must take multiple insulin injections or use an insulin pump, and test their blood sugar by pricking their fingers about six-ten times a day. Insulin is not a cure! That is why Priceville Elementary School is proud to participate in JDRF’s Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes Program.
The Priceville Community is a vital support network for the teachers, students, and families of PES. We would love for you to come and join us!
hank you for your support!
