Hartselle continued its long streak this year of college signings when Ethan Cowart signed his letter of intent on April 14 for track and field to Mobile.

A celebration was held in Cowart’s honor in the cafeteria of Hartselle High School. Friends and family were all in attendance to congratulate Cowart on his achievement. Head coach Nick Collier spoke to all in attendance about the character and work ethic of Cowart. “Ethan is the kind of player that you want all of your players to be like,” Collier said “He shows up early, he works extra afterwards and he gives it his all. He is also a great leader for the younger players.”

Cowart is eager to take the next step in his track career and expand his abilities  at Mobile. “I like Mobile because it is a Christian campus and also because it is smaller like Hartselle,” Cowart said “I’m real excited for this opportunity because I have really worked my tail off, and to be honest when I started this, it was just a way to stay in shape for football but I got good at it and just kept working.”

Collier would continue his compliments of Cowart. “He is just such a hard worker, he does absolutely everything he can to get better whether it’s on the field or taking stuff home” Collier said “and he also very willing to help others try to get better as well. I think Mobile will be the best place for him.”

Cowart was recruited by  to top schools like UAH and Alabama, but turned them down for the opportunity to play at the next level.
