The board of directors of the Hartselle Fine Arts Center will hold its annual Benefit and Silent Auction on Sat., April 23. The event will be held at the center located at 307 College St. NE. The silent auction bidding will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. with the meal following.

Donations including gift items, food, services, jewelry and much, much more will be available for bidding during the silent auction. Winners of the silent auction items will be announced at the conclusion of the banquet. You do not have to attend the banquet to attend and bid for items available in the silent auction.

The meal will be catered by The Freight House and will feature a full meal, salad, and tasty dessert. Members of the Hartselle High School Ambassadors will serve as greeters and servers during the evening and the meal.

An update of happenings and renovations to the building will be announced during the banquet time as well. Also the board will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the building, constructed in 1916. Entertainment will be provided by The Po’ House Band, a local bluegrass group.

According to board of directors chairman Randy Garrison, “this is our biggest fundraiser each year, and we depend on the funds raised during the silent auction and banquet to fund the daily operations of the facility. We also are continually renovating the 100-year-old building to keep it in the best condition possible for another 100 years.”

“We are proud and honored to be a part of keeping this “grand old lady” not only standing but in use by many in our community,” Garrison also remarked. The building is available for rent for weddings, showers, receptions and almost any and all social events. Plays, musicals, recitals and meetings are also held at the center.

All are invited to attend the annual event, but the cutoff for reservations is 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Reservations for the dinner are $50.00 each, and include both the meal and entertainment. There is no charge to attend only the silent auction.

Call the center at 256 773 4046 for more information or to reserve your spot for the benefit.

If you cannot attend, but would like to contribute to the operations and renovations of the facility, you may make your tax deductive donation by mail to HFAC, PO Box 373 Hartselle, Al 35640.
