Funeral for Pauline Evans, 87, of Decatur, was Sun., April 17, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Josh Sparkman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Blue Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans died Fri., April 15, 2016. She was born July 28, 1928, in Morgan County to Houston Barber and Daisy Barber. She was a very loving mother, who raised a wonderful family, teaching them the value of love for one another and hard work. She was able to leave a touching memory on everyone she ever met, including her extended family at USA Decatur Health and Rehab, where she had resided for a period of time. Our family wishes to thank them for the care they gave her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy “Doc” Evans; her parents; brothers, Harold “Jam-up” Barber and Sonny Barber; a sister, Betty Brookover; and a granddaughter, Tasha Niles.

She is survived by a son, Michael Evans; four daughters, Glenda Bell, Linda Muzzey, Judy Moore and Kathy Niles; three sisters, Edith Gray, Bobbie White and Frances Barber; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were William Niles, Jeff Farley, D.C. Gray, Fred White, Jimmy Clark and Wayne Brookover.
