Danville High School student arrested on child pornography charges
Agents from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit and the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force arrested a Danville High School student on Thursday for allegedly downloading and possessing child pornography.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s department, SVU Sgt. Blake Robinson conducted an investigation and obtained a search warrant on Kody Austin Lawrence Cox, 18, Highway 36 west in Hartselle, where Robinson found explicit pictures of children that Cox allegedly downloaded from the Internet and saved.
Robinson contacted the Morgan County Sherriff’s School Resource Officers and arrested Cox at the high school.
Cox is charged with possession of child pornography, a Class B felony, and remains in Morgan County Jail this morning with a $25,000 bond.
