The Priceville Junior High School will be involved in a Great Kindness Challenge which is proactive and a positive bullying prevention initiative from Feb. 13-17.

This event will help improve school climate and increases student engagement.

It is one week, dedicated to performing as many acts of kindness as possible. The school will use a suggestion checklist and encourage each student to accept the challenge and perform as many of the acts as they can, in order to show the world that kindness does matter.

The 50 kind acts are to be accomplished on campus. Students are encouraged to continue the kindness at home and in their communities.

According to the school press release, all kids deserve to learn in a safe and supportive environment. The GKC provides a powerful tool that actively engages students, teachers, administration, families and community in creating a school culture of acceptance, tolerance, unity and respect.

All students at PJHS, grades fifth-eighth will be using the kindness checklist, students work to accomplish at least 50 acts of kindness during the week.

A kindness station will be set up during all P.E. classes, where students can visit to complete tasks like writing a thank you note, writing on a kindness chain link, decorating handprints to display in school office lobby, and more.

The GKC Dress up days are as follows: Monday- Crazy for Kindness (crazy hair and socks), Tuesday- Peace, love and kindness (Tie dye, hippie attire), Wednesday- Kindness Rocks (rock star), Thursday- Dreaming of Kindness (pajama day), Friday- Kindness is the PJHS way (wear school spirit colors, black and gold).
