The Brewer Lady Patriots season ended Friday morning at Jacksonville State University in the Northeast regional tournament. Brewer just couldn’t hold on against second ranked Homewood and lost the game 73-34. Homewood is considered one of the best bets to win the state championship and they showed why in the win. Homewood only led 18-7 after one but exploded in the second quarter to take a 45-18 lead at halftime. Leisha Steger led Brewer with nine points while McCarley Northway finished with eight. Senior Katelyn Childs pitched in six points and Jacie Andrews totaled five.

Despite the loss, the future is bright fro Brewer. The Lady Patriots will return the majority of their team including stars McCarley Northway and Shyan Flack, the latter of which missed the end of the season after tearing her ACL in January.
