Weekdays Deli Holds Their February Meeting

Twelve former patrons of the Weekdays Deli enjoyed meeting at the Holy Smoke BBQ Restaurant on Wed., Feb. 8 at 12 p.m. for their monthly meeting. Billy Tillman was the honored birthday member. Those attending were Dwight Jones, Traci Slate, Silas Slate, Jimmy McClanahan, Lindsey, Noah, Seth, Abigail, Fred, and Sandra Smith and Junior and Jerri Hyatt.

A “Diaper Shower” was given by Fairview Church for Ally Summerford on Sun., Feb. 19. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship and new baby advice as well as refreshments in “The Nook” at 9 a.m.

Fairview Church held their “Starry Night Pageant” fundraiser on Sat. Feb. 18 The proceeds from the fundraiser will be used for the Children’s Summer Camp project in July.

Christian love and heartfelt prayers go out this week for Linda Gayle Penn, Ida Hughes, Shelba Laney, Letha Hopkins, Jennie Bramlett Alexander, Hyot Johnson and Elsie Pike. Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week for Elsie Culbreath who celebrated her special day on Feb. 17. Special get well soon wishes go out this week for David Hammon.

The Gals of Grace at Fairview the Grace Place met on Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Michelle Holmes is their leader. The members held Bible study in the gym.

The Caleb Club met on Wed. Feb. 8 at Francesco’s Restaurant in Decatur at 11:30 a.m. These senior citizens meet monthly on the second Wed. of each month.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church children enjoyed their Valentine party from 10 – 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 12. Kim Hall is the children’s director. There were decorations, valentines and refreshments, using the heart, stupid and love theme.

The entire congregation at Mt. Zion Baptist Church will be ice skating or at least socializing on Sun., Feb. 26 from 4 – 6 p.m. Helen Ferguson and Kim Hall are planning this event. The skating party will be hosted by the Point Mallard Ice Rink in Decatur.

Loraine Cost, Jane Hill and other members of the Women of Joy Sunday School Class at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, have prepared meals and delivered them to Gloria and Brother Wayne Penn. Gloria recently broke her wrist.

Lowell and JoAnn Brenneman and five daughters went to Haiti to see their son and bother, Joel who is doing mission work there. They spent five days together.

Enos Yonder and family are here from Burksville, Kentucky to make their home in the Massey community. A warm welcome is extended to the Yonder family. Neona Yonder works at the Dutch Oven Bakery at Evergreen.
