The rough start for the Brewer Lady Patriots continued when they dropped their fifth loss in a row against the Guntersville Wildcats. Brewer suffered losses to Lawrence County, Arab, Buckhorn and Madison County in a tournament over the weekend. The trend continued Monday.

Guntersville jumped on the Patriots early and took a 9-0 lead through three innings. Brewer caught life in the bottom of the third when Hannah Buchanan doubled and then scored off a sacrifice ground out. Madison Adams later tripled and then scored off another triple from Kennedy Winton to cut the lead to 9-2. However, this was the closest the Patriots got. Guntersville added six more runs and went on to win the game 15-2.

Cassidy Stephens took the loss for Brewer. Stephens gave up five hits and seven runs in two innings. Adams, Winton, Stephens and Joanie Lang each totaled one hit for Brewer.
