LIFESOUTH THANKS EVERYONE FOR THEIR SUPPORT

LifeSouth expresses their appreciation to each and everyone who helped to support the “Blood Drive” at Shady Grove Baptist Church on Feb. 19. The Shady Grove Blood Drive was a success with 16 volunteers of which 15 were eligible, possibly saving 48 lives. LifeSouth is very thankful for each person who donated.

Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week for Reeslyn Riggs and Reeslyn celebrated her special day on March 15.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week for my friend J. W. Blackwood and he will celebrate his special day on March 17. I hope that it is a good one J.W.

Wonderful happy birthday wishes go out this week for Marsha Roberts and Marsha will be celebrating on March 18. Happy birthday wishes also go out this week for Gunner Alvis and he will celebrate his special day on March 18.

The Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church welcome new members, Kaitlin Moore, by baptism on Feb. 5, 2017 and also Britt Harvel, by profession of Faith.

Christian love and heartfelt sympathy goes out this week for the family of Brenda Wise. Brenda will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Basham United Methodist Women met Feb. 13, at the church. The pledge service was led by president, Celia Vest. Dianne Doss reported that the Christmas project where the group sponsored two children was a success. The Unit made plans for their current goal of collecting clothing for several women’s shelters. Attending the meeting were Celia Vest, Dianne Doss, Edna Lott, Patsy Hampton, Elnora Ballard and Carolyn Lane. Special guests were Haley and McKynlee McAbee. Rev. Debbie Wade was unable to attend due to illness.

Special happy wedding anniversary wishes go out this week for Bo and Kristen Sparkman and they will celebrate their third wedding anniversary on March 22. Congratulations Bo and Kristen.

Wonderful happy wedding anniversary wishes go out this week for Joseph and Kayla Thomas and they will celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary on March 20. Congratulations Joseph and Kayla.

Danville High School Lady Hawks Senior softball starters are Morgan Weatherwax, pitcher, Josey Mellerg, outfielder and pitcher, juniors, Calie Ryan, 3rd base, Hannah Bates, senior outfielder, Gweyn Crowe, sophomore outfielder, freshman, Emma Broadfoot, catcher, Madalyn Holladay, pitcher and short stop, Savannah Pelfrey, designated hitter and Grace Cobb, first base. Their coaches are Lori Bailey, Head Coach and Assistants Dena Free and Rod Gillott.

Brian Ellis, Danville High School Baseball Coach is optimistic about this 2017 season. The Hawks have been winning over 20 games each season since 2012. Senior Hawk starters are Landon Tidwell, Jackson Locklear, Carson Owens, Dalton Parker, Weston Krohe, Jack Hackett, sophomore starter, Jackson Wigginton, catcher. The Assistant Coaches are Jimmy Parker, Noah Hogan and Austin Clemons.
