The Brewer Patriots faced off with the Curry Yellow Jackets in a double header over the weekend. The Patriots knocked off the Jackets in both games by a combined score of 21-6.

Brewer jumped on Curry early in the first game and never looked back. Jacob McMinemon and Dakota Bennett scored on errors while Zach Kodra scored off a fielder’s choice after he had hit a double to get on base. The Patriots pushed their lead 8-0 before the Yellow Jackets ever got on the board. Brewer won the game 8-1. Dakota Bennett led the Patriots in RBIs with three while Jacob McMinemon led them in hits with three. Bennett got the pitching win. He allowed just two hits and one run in seven innings pitched while pitching 17 strikeouts.

Brewer 13, Curry 5:

The second game between the two squads was much closer for eth first eight innings. Brewer led 5-2 after five innings, but Curry managed to tie the game at 5-5 in the sixth. However, an eight run seventh inning gave the Patriots the win 13-5. Dakota Bennett led the team with three hits. Five other players tallied more than one hit in the game. Dalton Gilmore was the game’s winning pitcher.
