County to observe Spring clean-up April 3-8

Morgan County commissioners and Adopt-A-Mile volunteers will sponsor their annual Spring Clean-Up beginning Mon., April 3, and continuing through Sat., April 8. 

Unwanted items may also be taken to the Morgan County Landfill at Trinity for disposal at no charge with proof of residency. Landfill hours are 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

All four district shops will be open Sat., Apr. 8, from 7 to 11 a.m. to accept unwanted items and offer assistance with their unloading.

A listing of the district shops, their location and hours of operation follows:

Location  1

Decatur/Morgan Landfill, 256-341-4993, Hwy. 20 West, 500 Landfill Dr., Trinity.

Location 2

Morgan County Environmental services, 256-773-3887, 1316 Industrial Drive SE, Hartselle. Tues.-Fri., 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.  and Saturday, 7 to 11 a.m. 

Location 3

Mon., April 10, Tues., April 11, Wed., April 12, Thur. April 13 (closed Fri., April 14) and Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m.

Location 4

Commissioner Greg Abercrombie, 256-778-8515, located at 423 Union Hill Road in Somerville. Tues.-Thur., 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 7 to 11 a.m.

Items not accepted are roof shingles, tires, household garbage, lumber or hazardous chemicals.
