Lady Tiger’s offense explodes in win over Decatur

The Hartselle Lady Tiger’s bats were alive and well on Wednesday when they knocked off the Decatur Lady Red Raiders. The win was the first area win for Hartselle this season and gives them a 1-1 area record.
Kylie Winton scored first for the Tigers thanks to a sacrifice fly from Emily Cowart and then Kylie Dubose scored on a single from LaNinya Wiggins.
In the second inning, Kenzi Parker scored on a double from Winton. Winton then scored on a two run home run from Kaitlyn Spangler, which gave the Tigers a 5-0 lead. Hartselle tacked on even more in the third thanks to two more two run home runs from Winton and Gracie Poe. Hartselle went on to win the game 10-5.
Kylie Winton led the team with three hits and three RBIs. Gracie Poe and Lindsey Robinson had two hits each. Poe and Kaitlyn Spangler had two RBIs. Poe also picked up the pitching win. She allowed no hits and no runs with three strikeouts in three innings pitched.
Hartselle 10, Grissom 4.
The Lady Tigers defeated the Grissom Tigers thanks to a huge six run second inning. Kalli Cartee scored on an RBI single from McKenzey Worley and Carrington Standridge scored on a wild pitch. Standridge, Worley and Kenzi Parker all scored on errors by Grissom. LaNinya Wiggins led the Tigers in hits with three while McKenzey Worley led with two RBIs. Mackenzie Jackson was the game’s winning pitcher as she gave up only two hits and one run with four strikeouts in four innings pitched.
Hartselle 12, Bob Jones 13.
Hartselle couldn’t pull it out in this offensive showcase. The Lady Tigers trailed the Patriots 13-8 going into the last inning. The Tigers managed to cut the lead to one when Taylor Spangler scored off a Kylie Winton single and Gracie Poe drove in a two RBI single. Kylie Dubose later scored on a wild pitch, but Hartselle couldn’t complete the comeback as they lost 13-12. Poe finished the game with two hits and three RBIs. Emily Cowart had three hits and two RBIs.
