Hartselle will host a new Arby’s restaurant location on Highway 31 with hopes to be completed by August of 2017.
Hartselle Contractor Genesis Construction began groundbreaking on the project earlier last week.
The restaurant will be located in between Preuitt Furniture Village and Dr. Sittason’s family dental office and across the street from Eddie Pruitt Ford.
Genesis Construction Founder David Wood said they found out about the project about two weeks ago and began the groundbreaking process on Tuesday, March 28.
“We haven’t created a set finishing date with the building process yet, we’ve been working with the developer to get that set up,” Wood said. “This is going to be set on a fast track though and the building will mimic a typical Arby’s restaurant.”
Wood said the process would take around 120 days or so to finish, equivalent to about four months, with the weather cooperating.
“We are working with the building for Ming Enterprises and we are happy to be a part of Hartselle’s growth,” Wood said. “It’s exciting for the city to get restaurants like Arby’s to come in here.”
Hartselle Mayor Randy Garrison said he and the city are very happy to see another business locating in Hartselle this year.
“We appreciate their confidence to build and bring their business to Hartselle,” Garrison said. “We’re constantly seeking new businesses to come to Hartselle. We have plans for other business hopefuls to plan to build here this year.”
Garrison said the other recent restaurant commitment, Zaxby’s, has already made some ground work in their building process.
